About Me…
DR ANNE JACOBS MscDClinPsy
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
I’m a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience working in psychological services in the NHS, who has a passion for supporting people to adjust when change is hard.
I founded ‘Dr Jacobs Therapy’ because I don’t believe support should be a ‘postcode lottery’. I want to reach more people who are understandably struggling to adapt to change in their lives.
I care deeply about my work and have worked alongside hundreds of clients over the years.
Clients know me as someone who is immediately approachable and genuine, a psychologist with warmth and compassion, who creates a sense of safety that lets people relax and feel understood.
My Approach
My work is collaborative, validating, and I use my wealth of psychological knowledge and experience to work alongside you, taking time to listen and understand your difficulties.
I focus on your strengths to support you through some of your darkest times so you can find a way forward which offers hope and joy. I provide neuro-affirming support, drawing on both my professional experience working with neurodivergence, and my lived experience, parenting a wonderful, creative autistic daughter.
My logo is derived from kintsugi, a Japanese art for repairing broken tea bowls with gold. It symbolises resilience, renewal, and embracing flaws as part of an object’s beauty and history. It teaches that in life we can turn adversity into something that is beautiful, we can heal from our wounds, embrace our imperfections, and become stronger. It reminds us that no matter our difficulties, we can find a way to reframe and find meaning in life again.
I provide a compassionate, non-judgemental and confidential space so you no longer feel trapped by your past, troubled by your present or unnecessarily worried about your future. Instead, I help you find yourself again in the midst of your difficulties, and help you focus on what really matters to you as you move forward with your life.
Outside of work…
In my personal life, I find joy in many things, letting joy sneak into my life through time with my family, getting messy and creative with my amazing children (I have two young girls), or being curled up under a cosy blanket on my sofa watching TV. I enjoy chilling out with my friends over a cuppa in our local café, listening to my favourite music as I dance around my kitchen, and doing anything creative, from cake decorating to painting murals. I’ve recently found a passion for running and love being in nature as I run through local fields and woodlands. I even managed to complete the Couch to 5k recently!
